character re-design
A project from my illustration class. We were tasked with redesigning a character from some visual thing we liked in "our style", and I took Lio Fotia from Promare and really pumped up his roots as a queer anarchist activist. I added lots of grit (both in design and in brush strokes) and a teensy bit of realism since those are things I love.
protagonist: sunpath wanderer
A character design created while following Knight Zhang's Class101 course, "Create a Portfolio-Ready Character Design Project.". My character is the protagonist of a solarpunk video game that involved lots of exploring, climbing, and documenting neat flora and fauna. The mood for it is very cheerful and peaceful, as if Breath of the Wild didn't have any combat.
quantum foam latte
Quantum Foam Latte is a personal IP project in which we follow college student Tiff as she gets swept up in a time traveling adventure with some benevolent and not-so-benevolent aliens. This project involved character, prop, and world design. It was designed with a tween audience and a 3D look in mind.
DAggers in their hands
Daggers Project involves concepts, designs, and worldbuilding for a fantasy melding of Romeo and Juliet and Dungeons and Dragons. It follows Romy Montague, Juneau Capulet, and their wizard friend Leomaris LeFay uncovering a demonic plot against the sun-based god of their city, hiding in the backdrop of inter-family political battles. While still colorful, Daggers Project is slightly more adult-leaning and darker than my other projects.
Architecture Visualization
The Neglected Public Restroom, Public Restrooms for the Neglected was the Master's thesis for architecture student Cassie Kay. She commissioned me to make visuals for her final presentation. Her thesis involves accessible restrooms and safe spaces for people set around Salt Lake City, Utah. The buildings were designed by Cassie Kay in 3D, then sent to me to paint over and put in context. I painted roads, grass, building materials, and people in a lit environment.
